| About The Yearlings The Yearlings, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization committed to providing scholarships for non-traditional female students at NKU, Thomas More College, Gateway Community & Technical College and the University of Cincinnati. We also support selected local charities through service and financial donations. As an all volunteer organization, we donate our time and talents to develop, plan and conduct fundraising events in the Northern Kentucky/ Cincinnati area. The Yearlings members are charitably-minded women that are dedicated and passionate about providing support for the community. Involvement in The Yearlings, Inc. provides opportunity for personal growth while developing lasting personal and business relationships. Since 1986, The Yearlings, Inc. has given over $835,000 to charities and The Yearlings Scholarship funds. History of The Yearlings The Spiral Stakes at Florenceās Turfway Park was inaugurated in 1979 and grew into a huge community celebration with festival and charitable events that required hundreds of volunteers. The Yearlings were founded in 1986 as the Spiral Festival Auxiliary, to assist with coordinating the numerous charitable activities surrounding the Spiral Stakes. When the Spiral Festival was disbanded in 1991, the energetic and dedicated members of The Yearlings did not want to discontinue their efforts to serve their community. The Yearlings declared their independence from the Spiral Stakes and incorporated in 1991 as a non-profit organization whose mission is raising the maximum for charity at minimum administrative costs. |
